Z-mill

A Sendzimir mill is a multi-roll scaffold (English cluster mill ) for cold rolling, can be rolled flat products with particularly low tolerance and thin. It is named after its inventor Tadeusz Sendzimir that in July 1935, registered the rationale for a patent.

Operation

Based on an in 1930, developed by Wilhelm Rohn More high rolling mill in which the two work rolls are supported by four large backup rolls, which in turn are supported on six other even larger backup rolls ( 1-2- 3 configuration ) - a deflection of the work rolls so pure is prevented by the rigidity of the larger backing rolls - the work rolls as well as the four primary support rollers mounted only floating the present Sendzimir mill and the six secondary support rollers supported again by additional eight roller groups with an even larger diameter (1 -2-3 -4 configuration). This side by side like a cylinder mounted rollers are mounted in short distances on adjustable bearing blocks, whereby the deflection and the support of the roll stack can be adjusted via this bearing blocks of the rolling stock and intercept the forces not only the stiffness of the rollers and the roller bearing in the frame be. The floating mounting of the work and backup rolls, which can be removed from the framework side, also shortens makeready times during a roll change significantly, which makes the operation of such mill particularly economical.
