Zabdiel Sampson

Zabdiel Sampson ( born August 22, 1781 Plympton, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, † July 19, 1828 in Plymouth, Massachusetts ) was an American politician. Between 1817 and 1820 he represented the state of Massachusetts in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Zabdiel Sampson received a classical education and studied until 1803 at Brown University in Providence (Rhode Iceland ). After a subsequent law degree in 1806 and its recent approval as a lawyer, he began to work in Plymouth in this profession. Politically, he was a member of the Democratic- Republican Party. In the congressional elections of 1816 Sampson was in the eighth election district of Massachusetts in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of William Baylies on March 4, 1817. After a re-election, he could remain until his resignation on July 26, 1820 in Congress. After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives Zabdiel Sampson was until his death head of the customs authority in Plymouth. There he is on July 19, 1828 and passed away.
