Zach Parise

Zachary Justin Parise ( born July 28, 1984 in Minneapolis, Minnesota ) is an American professional ice hockey player in the position of left winger who stands since July 2012 for the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League contract. His father Jean -Paul Parise was and his older brother Jordan Parise is also a professional hockey player.

Career

Parise first played from 2000 to 2002 for the ice hockey team of the St. Mary's Shattuck in the high school league system of the United States. He then stood two seasons for the ice hockey team of the University of North Dakota in the National Collegiate Athletic Association on the ice. With good performances Parise drew attention to himself and was selected by the New Jersey Devils NHL Entry Draft 2003 in the first round as the 17th. He stayed another year in North Dakota and won with the U.S. team gold at the U20 World Youth Championship in 2004.

2004 brought him the Devils in their farm team to the Albany River Rats in the AHL since the NHL season was canceled due to a strike. From the 2005/06 season he played in the NHL for New Jersey. In the following season he was able to improve its performance significantly and exceeded already half of the season the previous mark of 32 points scorer. Therefore, he was also nominated at the 55th National Hockey League All-Star Game for the Young Stars Game and there honored as MVP.

In the 2008 / 09 season, Parise was with 45 goals and 94 points in the regular season the most successful scorer of the Devils and finished the league in fifth place in the scorers list. Parise took part with Team USA at the 2010 Winter Olympics and won the silver medal with the team.
