Zack Smith

Zack Smith ( born April 5, 1988 in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player standing since 2008 with the Ottawa Senators in the National Hockey League under contract and in parallel for their farm team Binghamton Senators played in the American Hockey League.

Career

Zack Smith began his career as a hockey player with the Swift Current Broncos, for which he was active from 2004 to 2008 in the Canadian junior Western Hockey League. He was able to convince, especially in the 2007/ 08 season, in which he as team captain in a total of 84 games 80 scorer points, including 27 goals scored. He then finished the season 2007/ 08 with the Manitoba Moose, for which he gave an assist in the American Hockey League in six games. On 14 August 2008 he signed a contract as a free agent with the Ottawa Senators, who selected him in the NHL Entry Draft in 2008 in the third round as the 79th overall player. In the 2008 /09 season, he then played for Ottawa's farm team in Binghamton Senators of the AHL. He scored 24 goals in 79 games each and 24 templates. He also came on 29 November 2008 away game against the New York Islanders for his debut in the National Hockey League for the Ottawa Senators.

Also in the 2009/10 season played Smith mainly for the Binghamton Senators in the AHL, while he came to 21 appearances for Ottawa in the NHL. After he started the following season again at Binghamton in the AHL, he could earn a regular place in Ottawa in the NHL in the course of the season.
