Zafar Guliyev
Safar Safar ogly Guliyev (Russian Зафар Сафар оглы Гулиев; born June 17, 1972 in Lüvəsər, Azerbaijan SSR, Soviet Union ) is a former Russian wrestler. He won at the 1996 Olympics and a bronze medal was three times European champion in Greco-Roman wrestling in the paper weight.
Career
Safar Guliyev began as a teenager in 1985 with the rings. After initial successes at the national level was the 1.54 meter tall athlete who wrestled always in the paper weight, the lightest weight class, the Sport Club Dinamo Ulyanovsk. There he was trained by A. Winnik. In the 1995/96 season he started for the RWG Moembris -Königshofen in the German Bundesliga and played for this club seven fights.
