Zafaraniyeh

Zaferānieh (Persian زعفرانیه ) is a district in the north of Tehran.

It lies west of the Tadschrischplatz and adjacent to the district Velenjak. The Shahid Fallahi Sarlashkar Street, the main street of the district goes west on the Valiasr Street. The name Zaferānieh can be traced back to the saffron traders who once lived in this neighborhood.

The Faculty of Foreign Languages, Islamic Azad University of Tehran is also in Zaferānieh. Here, among other languages ​​such as English, German, French and Spanish are taught. In the museum of the Sa'adabad - palace is a cultural institute.

In Zaferānieh is the residence of the Egyptian Embassy and a synagogue.
