Zahrensdorf

Zahrensdorf is a municipality in the north of the county Ludwigslust - Parchim in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ). It is administered by the Office Sternberg Lake District with headquarters in the city Sternberg.

Geography and transport

The municipality is located in the northern part of the Ludwig pleasure Parchim along the mill stream. In the north- east of the municipality is the Tempziner Lake and north of the Great Steedersee. To the west the municipality to the Neuhof lake and on the south by Lake Keezer. Halfway between Neuhofer lake and Tempziner lake is the wetland Werder Moor. The highest point of the village is an unnamed hill in the south at 67.2 m above sea level. HN.

Due to the north of the municipality performs the railway bath small -Rostock. But there is no breakpoint in the municipality. About the easternmost B 192 is reached via the connection Zurow (distance 15 km) of the Baltic Sea motorway A 20 (Lübeck - Stettin). The next largest cities are equipped with Brüel ( four kilometers ) and Warin ( six kilometers ) not far away.

To Zahrensdorf includes a fully wooded, enclosed by the district North West Mecklenburg exclave.

History

It is 1238 and the monastery Tempzin 1222 first documented. Until 1316 it belonged to Henry, Duke of Mecklenburg, then the dynasty of Plessen. From the year 1405 to the secularization in 1555, the area belonged to the monastery Tempzin. Since 1794 until the Second World War Zahrensdorf belonged to the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg. After 1945 it belonged only to the state of Mecklenburg and then from 1952 to 1990 for the district of Schwerin.

  • The monastery was Tempzin gegründetet from St. Anthony Medal 1222. The Gothic two-storey Präzeptoreigebäude (hot house ) of 1496, the nursing home (barn ruins) and the cemetery wall with portal are under monument protection.
