Zakir Hussain (politician)

Zakir Hussain ( Urdu ذاکر حسین, Telugu: జాకీర్ హుస్సైన్; born February 8, 1897 in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, † May 3, 1969 in New Delhi ) was an Indian state president of 1967 until 1969.

The son of Muslim parents and his doctorate educationist and social worker also served as Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University. From 1957 to 1962 was Hussain Governor of Bihar. In 1962 he took over the post of Vice President of India and was on May 9, 1967 Indian President.
