Zakopower

Zakopower is a company incorporated in 2005 Polish folk band.

The band to which a total of 7 members belong, was due to the initiative of the violinist Sebastian Karpiel - Bułecka who drummed together a series relevantly well-known musicians from the folk scene of the Tatra who participated previously in other productions, including in Zbigniew Namysłowski, Vitold Rek Zbigniew Preisner and not least in the folk recording of Goran Bregovic and Kayah. The latter also acts as manager of the band, which is produced by Mateusz Pospieszalski.

The band's name derives from the town of Zakopane, the center of Polish highlanders from which the music owes a great contribution. The band is also available with a cover version of the Hungarian piece Gyöngyhaju Lany ( original from Omega, 1969) occurred with Hungarian texts.

The first CD Music Hal combines texts gorals dialect with elements of folk songs and club music. In the fall of 2007, the second CD Na appeared siedem. The musicians themselves see themselves as part of the broadly understood World Music.
