Zakynthos " Dionysios Solomos " airport (English Zakynthos International Airport, " D. Solomos ," Greek name Kratikos Aerolimenas Zakynthou " Dionysios Solomos " ) is the international airport of the Greek island of Zakynthos, located southwest of the island's capital, Zakynthos, northeast of the town of Laganas and north the village of Kalamaki. The airport was named after the poet who was born in Zakynthos Dionysios Solomos. It serves both the national and international air traffic. This makes it a "Airport of Entry ". The airport is only used for civil aviation. At the airport there is a strict ban on night flights.

Terminal and airfield

In 1981 a new terminal was built for large passenger volumes. Another new development for capacity expansion followed. On the apron there are seven parking spaces for aircraft. The airport has only one runway ( Runway 16/34, orientation North North West South-southeast ). He has no parallel to the runway, taxiways ( Taxiway ). In the 21st century, no air cargo was transshipped on the Zakynthos airport: the airport it serves exclusively to transport people.
