Zanobi Acciaioli

Zanobi Acciaioli (* 1461 in Florence, † 1519 in Rome ) was an Italian Dominican friar. He comes from the Florentine family Acciaiuoli.

Acciaioli occurred on December 8, 1495 Florentine convent of San Marco in the Dominican Order one. He learned Greek and Hebrew, and works as a librarian at the San Marco monastery. In 1518 he was appointed by Leo X. appointed Prefect of the Vatican Library.

Acciaioli mainly translated texts from the ancient Greeks. He also wrote a panegyric to the city of Naples, the Liber de vindicta Dei contra peccatores, he also wrote poetry.
