Style

Zou's artistic style since the early 1950s is associated with the lyrical abstraction and the Nouvelle École de Paris. At the beginning of his career he was influenced by Paul Klee, but later changed to "Abstract ". He often worked in large format - even in the form of diptychs or triptychs - where he used " exploding colors ". Mostly he named his works only after the date on which they were completed. As Henri Michaux, he worked with the resources of Chinese ink painting and combined the rhythmic traditional Chinese paintings with abstract themes.
