Zarichne

Saritschne (Ukrainian Зарічне - to 1946 Погост / Pohost, Погост-Зарічний/Pohost-Saritschnyj; Russian Заречное / Zarechnoye, Polish Pohost Zarzeczny ) is an urban-type settlement in the Western Ukraine, Rivne Oblast with 6,760 inhabitants ( 2012). It is the administrative center of the homonymous Rajons Saritschne and lies on the River Styx, north of Rivne near the border with Belarus.

The settlement administration include not only the main town and the villages Iwantschyzi ( Іванчиці ) and Tschernyn ( Чернин ).

History

The town was first mentioned in writing in 1480, since 1959 he has the status of an urban-type settlement.

Traffic

Since 1968 Saritschne has the terminus of the railway line Antoniwka - Saritschne.

Rajon

The out of Saritschne managed Rajon Saritschne bordered to the north and Belarus was established in 1939. It has an area of 1442 km ² and 35,000 inhabitants ( 2011). This gives a population density of 24 inhabitants per km ².
