Zarinsk
Sarinsk (Russian Заринск ) is a city in the Altai region in southern West Siberia (Russia) with 48,461 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).
Geography
The city is located west of the Salairrückens, about 100 km north-east of the regional capital, Barnaul, on the river Tschumysch, a right tributary of the Ob.
The city is Sarinsk the region administratively subordinated directly and also the administrative center of the homonymous Rajons.
By Sarinsk leads the railway Barnaul - Novokuznetsk.
History
The village was founded in 1952 as Sarinskaja to the same train station at the opening of the route Barnaul - Novokuznetsk. 1958, the status of an urban-type settlement was awarded. Between 1972 and 1985 a large coking plant was built southeast of the town, which started production in 1981. With the work of the city 's population grew, so that the settlement was in 1979 with the existing village since 1748 Sorokino, located about 6 km north- west, united and received under the present name of a town.

Economy
