Záviš of Zápy

Záviš of Zap (* 1350, † after 1411 probably in Prague) was a Bohemian theologian and composer.

Záviš of Zap was 1379 Baccalaureus, 1381 Masters and 1391 professor at the Charles University in Prague. From 1394 to 1402 he was a canon in Olomouc, after which he lived again in Prague. The last time this 1411 is mentioned here as a doctor of theology. From him some love songs have survived, including All joy is leaving me, the text of a song follows Frauenlob. Also, are attributed to him several liturgical chants and songs in Latin.
