Zawady

Zawady is a Polish place name.

The name probably derives from the Slavic word for Zawada, ( a ) obstacle ' from. Therefore, the Masurian place names Sawadden were also in Polish translated back with Zawada or Zawady after 1945. These two place names appear on the Warmian -Masurian out across Poland scattered on some 40 more times, so that it is one of the most common Polish place names. In the wake of a massive Germanization of Masurian place names, but also in the objective of reducing duplication in place names 1938 places in East Prussia were all given names Sawadden with new place names.
