Zbigniew Szewczyk

Zbigniew Szewczyk ( born November 29, 1967 in Boleslawiec ) is a former Polish football player and currently coach of the circle division club VfL Essingen.

Career

In 1987, Szewczyk from the U- 19 in the first team of Zagłębie Lubin. He played for the club until 1993, he was in 1991 Polish Champion. In the following season, he played in the European Champions Cup, a match against Brondby IF, they went 3-0 but lost. In 1993 he moved to Germany for SV Meppen, he plays to 1997 in the 2nd Division. In 1997 he joined the Regional to Tennis Borussia Berlin, in the very first season reached the summit. In the 1998/99 season he reached the quarter-finals with Berlin in the DFB - Pokal, where after victories against Hannover 96 (1-0 ), Stuttgarter Kickers (4-2 ) and Hertha BSC (4-2 ) only to the eventual cup winners SV Werder Bremen 1:2 retired from the competition. In 2000 he returned to Zaglebie Lubin. In the season 2002/ 03 he moved to KS Polkowice and played his final season.

Coach

In 2006 he became an assistant coach at the Brave Nowogrodziec, he schnürrte even once his shoes and stood on 23 August 2006 in the match against Ruch Chorzów again on the pitch, the game was lost at home 5-0. After a year break, he was coach in 2009 in Germany for SpVgg Edenkoben. Since 2011 he has been coach of the circle division club VfL Essingen.

Others

His son Maciej Szewczyk is also football player and currently stands at KS Polkowice under contract.
