Zdeněk Lukáš
Zdeněk Lukáš ( born August 21, 1928 in Prague, † July 13, 2007 ) was a Czech composer.
Life
Lukáš studied education and worked from the beginning as a teacher. In the years 1953 - 1963 he was a producer at the Czechoslovak Radio in Pilsen and choirmaster. Between 1962 and 1970 he studied with Miloslav Kabeláč. He was strongly influenced by Czech folklore and his work mainly focuses on vocal music. Since the 1960s, he increasingly took avant-garde techniques in his works. His works include seven symphonies, and operas, oratorios and cantatas and numerous choral works. Besides his work as a composer, he devoted himself to the choral conducting in different countries.
In 1996, together Lukáš me Sylvie Bodorová, Luboš Fiser and Otmar Macha group of artists Quattro. Each member should represent a different generation of composers.
