Zdravko Miljak

Zdravko Miljak ( born September 11, 1950 in Vinkovci, Yugoslavia ) is a former Croatian handball player. The left-hander played mostly at right back.

In his home Miljak first played for his hometown club Lokomotiva Vinkovci and later to the Zagreb club RK Medveščak. Then he went to Italy to Trieste Cividin. In the Handball - Bundesliga, he came across the TuS Nettelstedt. Miljak then played from 1981 to 1985 for VfL Günzburg. In 1984, he was with 188 goals, including 61 seven-meter, in 25 games top scorer of the Handball Bundesliga. The two seasons before he was behind Erhard Wunderlich, each with just one hit less, second in the scoring charts.

Miljak played for the Yugoslav national team. He was with the state selection Olympic champion in Munich 1972. He played in all six games of Yugoslavia and scored seven goals, including three in the final game at 21:16 against Czechoslovakia. Four years later he finished fifth with Yugoslavia in Montreal. Again, he played all six games and threw 30 goals.

After his playing days he became coach of the TSV Milbertshofen. In 1990, he was replaced by Vlado Stenzel. From Miljak came many years before the nickname " Magician" for Vlado Stenzel.

Miljak lives in Zagreb and Zadar and Financial Advisor. He is also the President of the RK Medveščak first division.
