Zebedayo Bayo

Amnaay Zebedayo Bayo ( born May 20, 1976 in Arusha ) is a Tanzanian long distance runner who specializes in road races.

In 1997, he won the Vigarano marathon, marathon came the World Championships in Athletics in Athens on the 68th and was second in the Venice Marathon. The following year he was third in the Lisbon Half Marathon, won the Los Angeles Marathon and was third in the New York City Marathon. He finished tenth at the Paris Marathon 1999. At the World Championships in Seville, he did not reach the target.

2000 was followed by victories at the Paris Half Marathon and the CPC Loop Den Haag, a fourth place in the Paris Marathon. Subsequently, he was nominated for the Olympic Games in Sydney, where he broke in at number 61. In the World Half Marathon Championships in Veracruz, he was seventh.

In 2001 he was fourth at the Tokyo International Women's Marathon, second in Hokkaido Marathon and came at the World Half Marathon Championships in Bristol on the 26th place. In the following season he did not get beyond a 17th place at the Lake Biwa Marathon and a tenth the Milan City Marathon.

In 2003 he won in Tokyo and was eighth in Paris. At the World Championships in Paris / Saint- Denis, he gave up shortly after the start. But in the autumn he had a victory at the Athens Marathon.

In 2004 he qualified with an eighth place at the Rotterdam Marathon for the Olympic Games in Athens, where he again suffered a premature end.

His last top places in a big race, he scored in the following year as runner-up in Tokyo. 2008 he worked at the Tokyo Marathon as a pacemaker for the elite.

At the World Cross Country Championships he finished 2000 in Vilamoura rank 14 and 2001 in Ostend Rank 49
