Žebrák Castle

The castle Žebrák ( German: Burg beggars ) is Tocnik in Okres Beroun in the Czech Republic.

The Žebrák castle was built in the second half of the 13th century and was from 1341 the Bohemian kings. Under Wenceslas IV, the castle was extensively remodeled and built on a ridge located immediately northeast of the castle Tocnik. In the 15th century the castle was pledged. Since 1532 the castle Žebrák was more of a ruin since it was not completely rebuilt after a fire again. In 1553 it was mentioned as desolate.

The complex consists of three buildings arranged in a row in linear succession: in the middle is a round donjon, south of it, there is another smaller tower and a north Palas.
