Zebulun (also Zebulon, Hebrew זבולון ) is the tenth son of Jacob in the Bible ( cf. Gen. 35.23 EU). His mother was Leah, the first wife of Jacob. He was the youngest of her six sons, while his other half-brothers from other mothers had ( cf. Gen 29.31 EU - 30.24 ).

The tribe of Zebulun

After him also named one of the twelve tribes of the Hebrews in the early days of the Jewish people, which attributed its origin to the patriarchs. According to the statement, " they will gain the wealth of the sea" in the blessings of Moses (Deut 33,19 EU ) would be suspect that the tribe had settled on the coast, which, however, with the description of the tribal area in the book of Joshua are not in accordance to bring (cf.
