Zechin

Zechin is a municipality in the district of Mark- or country in Brandenburg and is part of the Office Golzow.

Geography

Community structure

For the municipality of the districts Buschendorf, Friedrichsaue and Zechin are reported. Other parts are inhabited community Baier Mountain, Gerickensberg, Lehmann Hofel and Zechiner Loose.

History

1313, the village was first mentioned in documents as Zechyn.

Buschendorf and Friedrichsaue were incorporated on 31 December 1997.

The community Zechin leads no crest, the former municipalities Buschendorf, Friedrichsaue and Zechin lead their previous coat of arms on a district symbols.

In the list of monuments in Zechin are registered in the list of monuments of the country Brandenburg monuments.

Others

While in many places in eastern Germany since 1990 the name of GDR politicians and communists were often removed from street names, the community Zechin has renamed a branch of the main street in Wilhelm- Pieck -Straße in August 2007 (after the first GDR President Wilhelm Pieck ). Pieck had worked as a young apprentice carpenter in a located back in the street joinery, which is a memorial today.
