Zeitschrift für deutsches Altertum und deutsche Literatur

The magazine for German antiquity and German literature ( short ZfdA ) is a trade magazine for the German language with a focus on the senior division, but also includes work on modern German literature.

The journal was founded in 1841 by Moriz main, making it the oldest still existing today trade magazine for old German. This was preceded by the magazine for German antiquity, as the full title, edited by Hoffmann von Faller life collection " Old German Sheets" ( Leipzig, 1836-40, 2 vols ). From 1841 to 1875 the magazine first appeared under the title " indicator for German antiquity and German literature." Since 1931, it is published quarterly.

The magazine for German Antiquity is currently published by Marburger Germanists Jürgen Wolf in the succession of Joachim Heinzle and appears in Hirzel Verlag, Stuttgart.

Older vintages are available in digitized form on DigiZeitschriften (until 2005) and JSTOR (until 2006).

Since 1996, appear at irregular intervals as the ZfdA - Supplements Series.
