Željko Sopić

Željko SOPIC (born 24 July 1974 in Zagreb ) is a former Croatian football player.

Career

In his first year as a professional Željko SOPIC played for NK Zagreb. In 1998 he moved to Germany in the Bundesliga to Borussia Mönchengladbach. In his first season, 1998/99 at Borussia team rose as Table from the second division. In the following season 1999/2000 of the targeted re-emergence was missed. SOPIC he moved to league rivals LR Ahlen. In Ahlen he remained until 2005, in the meantime he gave in 2002 a stint with Hapoel Petah Tikva. After his time in Ahlen, he returned to his native country he played for NK Zagreb, NK Slaven Koprivnica Belupo and NK Lokomotiva Zagreb. In 2011, he finished his career.
