Zeng Jinyan

Zeng Jinyan (曾 金燕Chinese, Pinyin Zeng Jinyan, born 9 October 1983) is a Chinese blogger and human rights activist and the wife of AIDS and environmental activist Hu Jia.

Zeng was known for her blog, which she operated during the disappearance of her husband, which was believed that it was the work of the Chinese secret police. Zeng was put under house arrest in August 2006, and her blog, which described in detail her life under constant surveillance and police harassment, was consistently blocked in China. Zeng continued to work on their blogs.

Zeng Jinyan and Hu Jia created a 31 -minute documentary, Prisoners of Freedom City ( "Prisoners of Freedom City " ) through its seven -month house arrest from August 2006 to March 2007. The couple was two months later, on 18 May 2007, placed under house arrest again, because of " breach of national security ." Zeng Jinyan is shown in Tiananmen 2.0. and was named one of TIME Magazine's 100 most important people of the present, as a " heroine " and " pioneer ".
