Zenón Noriega Agüero

Zenón Noriega Agüero ( born July 12, 1900 in Cajamarca, Peru, † May 7, 1957 in Lima, Peru), General and politician, 1950 briefly President of Peru formally at the head of a military junta.

Noriega was born in 1900 in Cajamarca. He was the deputy of Manuel A. Odría, took power in a military coup since the 1948. On June 1, 1950 Odría handed over the presidency to Noriega because he wanted to compete even in a presidential election ( the only candidate) and can be confirmed by the people. After the election, Noriega handed the presidency on 28 July again Odría. Historians agree that Noriega is not self- governed, but as a straw man in the presidency the Odria instructions followed.

1955 Noriega was planning a coup to oust Odria, but what this frustrated. Noriega was imprisoned and died in 1957.
