Zenonas Petrauskas

Zenonas Petrauskas ( born June 22, 1950 in Čekiškė, rayon Kaunas, Soviet Union, † 18 January, 2009 Vilnius, Lithuania ) was a Lithuanian and international law from 2004 to 2006 Deputy Foreign Minister of Lithuania.

After graduating from middle school in Ariogala ( Rayon Raseiniai ) Zenonas Petrauskas studied until 1975 Law at the Law Faculty of Vilnius University and received his doctorate in 1982 at the Institute of Philosophy, Sociology and Law of the Academy of Sciences. In 1991 he continued his education at the Institute of East European Law, University of Cologne, in 1994 at the Institute of Political Sciences of the University of Umea (Sweden ), 1995 at the University of Aarhus ( Denmark) and 1997 at the University of Brussels ( Belgium).

From 1991 to September 2005 he was Head of the Department of International Law and EU Law, Faculty of Law, Vilnius University. From 2004 to 2006 he was Deputy Foreign Minister of Lithuania.

Zenonas Petrauskas was the author of monographs on diplomatic and consular law.
