The Zeppelinheim station is the station of the district of Neu-Isenburg Zeppelinheim. It is located in urban, peripheral and adjacent to the Frankfurt am Main airport. At the station, the connecting curve Zeppelinheim threaded to Frankfurt Airport long-distance station from the Riedbahn where the train station is from.

Here 's line S7 S-Bahn Rhein- Main. Daily stops at night in each direction a train regional train line RB70 on Zeppelinheim station. Sundays and bank holidays keep two trains to Frankfurt, one morning and one evening. Direction Gernsheim / Mannheim keep Sundays and public holidays no trains.

History

The station was opened as a stop means Dick in the amount of forest restaurant of the same name on October 1, 1901, initially served to open the large contiguous forest district, medium-thick, as a recreational area for the residents of Frankfurt. After the construction of the settlement Zeppelinheim the station received its current name. In 1995, the historic station building was demolished.

Future

About one kilometer southwest of the station Zeppelinheim be built Terminal 3 of Frankfurt Airport. As part of the new line Rhein / Main Rhein / Neckar or of the new approach to Frankfurt Rhein Main plus three variants were considered to develop this terminal by rail. Two of them stipulated that the Zeppelinheim station is used as a stop and the connection is made to the airport via a bus or an extension of the SkyLine train high.
