System reboot is a novel by William Gibson. He decides to Bigend trilogy by Hubertus Bigend, which is already surfaced in pattern recognition, and Hollis Henry and Milgrim from source code. It is an economic thriller set in contemporary London and Paris.

Action

After the end of a fashion espionage job in South Carolina Milgrim is ordered by Hubertus Bigend to London to seek together with Hollis Henry after the designer of the secret brand Gabriel Hounds. Bigends current interest is in the fashion market, in particular the interplay between work, road and military clothing. He hopes to draw with the Gabriel Hounds design lucrative military contracts on land.

The search leads Hollis and Milgrim first to Paris, where they face unexpected persecution. It turns out that Bigend with the ex-military Michael Preston Gracie has an aggressive competitor, whose criminal past the DCIS agent Winnie Tung Whitaker calls the plan. Milgrim acts henceforth in consultation with Bigend as a double agent, while some other employees Bigends beat on Gracie's side.

Shortly before the final showdown occurs Hollis ' lost friend Garreth on the plan. He manages to punish Bigend for his devious and dubious, while he should drop him at the same time by spectacular strategic approach in a hostage exchange in the middle of London, the Milgrim would have to sacrifice the financial rescues.

• Hollis Henry was a famous singer in the rock band The Curfew. by the stock market crash it has lost a large part of their assets, which is why she now works as a journalist and in addition provides forced to accept orders from Hubertus Bigend. • Hubertus Bigend is the founder of the marketing agency Blue Ant He is a self-centered, opaque magnate Anglo- Belgian origin. Bigend is the link between both all the figures as well as between the parts of the trilogy.

Interpretation

The novel represents Gibson's response to the culture of capitalism in the 21st century. The stupid flood of brands and products, the constant pursuit of profit of capitalism lead to dulling of the people against war and suffering, only it is the protagonist of the novel, about a possible effective marketing of the military. He also criticized the lures of recruits on fashionable clothes, catchy slogans and rousing melodies satirically sharp.
