Zeuchfeld is a district of the town Freyburg ( Unstrut) in Burgenland district, in Saxony -Anhalt ( Germany ).

Geography

Zeuchfeld between Halle ( Saale) and Weimar, near the town of Freyburg an der Unstrut. Nestled among woods, vineyards and fields the location is situated in a slight depression. This circumstance results in a transitional problems with local flooding.

The hill to the south is popularly called the " Naumburg mountain". There was a limestone quarry and a cherry plantation.

History

Zeuchfeld is in a charter of King Otto III. first mentioned in documents dated 19 January 991 as Zuchibuli.

The Via Regia also called strata regia, an ancient royal road led through Zeuchfeld until a stone bridge in Bad Kosen was built (built 1368-1404 ).

The C ( "Charly" ) - Company, of the 777th battalion of the 69th U.S. Infantry Division reached on his way east on April 11 Zeuchfeld.

Zeuchfeld was incorporated into Freyburg ( Unstrut) on 1 July 2009.

Education

Until about 1950 there was a school in the village. This former school building is built of stone and timber and one of the largest buildings in the town. It now serves as a residence. Today students commute from Freyburg for elementary and secondary education and further away for higher education.

Culture and Leisure

There are two clubs in the village. The fields, Go Pfingsburschen eV organize, among other celebrations for the feast of Pentecost. The home and culture club Zeuchfeld eV organizes among other wine tastings and a Christmas market.

The " Göhleweg " performs Zeuchfeld. It is marked with a red cross and starts in Freyburg on Jahnplatz and performs on protecting street - Schlifterberg - Burgholzweg - atonement Cross - Old Göhle - Zeuchfeld - Branderoda - Ebersroda - New Göhle - and the gallows for Bodelschwinghstraße monument in the northwest of Freyburg.

Federal highway 176 runs right on the outskirts. It leads westward to Freyburg and east to White Rock, where it connects with the Zeuchfeld the A9 motorway.

The village is connected by the bus number 630 and 634 of the PVG Burgenlandkreis mbH with the cities of Freyburg and Lauchagrund most surrounding villages.

Economy

Only a few residents today work in agriculture in the fields around the village. Two wine firms operate from Zeuchfeld because it is part of the wine growing areas of the Saale -Unstrut region. In addition to this traditional area, most residents are commuters working in the cities of the region and beyond. But some independent small business owners have their headquarters in Zeuchfeld, including electrical installation, tiling and Flooring, a general practitioner and landscape maintenance.
