ZF Wind Power Antwerpen

The Hansen Transmissions International NV, a subsidiary of ZF Friedrichshafen AG is an internationally active manufacturer of gears, which are used in industry and in turbines of wind turbines. In the wind energy sector Hansen belongs to an installed capacity of the world's leading companies. Legal domicile of the company is founded in 1923 Edegem, Belgium. Hansen scored 379 million euros in sales in fiscal year 2009/10. Since July 2011, the German automotive supplier ZF Friedrichshafen offered 445 million euros for the acquisition of the company. and was on 16 November 2011 announced that it has acquired all the shares of Hansen Transmissions. Listing and trading of the shares on the London Stock Exchange was set on the same day. Major shareholders had previously been the Indian Suzlon Energy and the British Ecofin, which had held together 38.4 % of the shares.

While the complete wind power division of Hansen went to ZF, the industrial gear division of Hansen was purchased as Hansen Industrial Trans Miss Auditions (HIT ) by Sumitomo Heavy Industries.
