Zhang Daqing

Zhang Daqing (Chinese张大庆, Pinyin Zhang Daqing; * October 23, 1969 near Kaifeng ) is a Chinese amateur astronomer from Henan Province.

Zhang is the co-discoverer of the periodic comet named after him 153P/Ikeya-Zhang and becoming the first Chinese amateur astronomer, after a comet has been named. Zhang builds itself telescopes and discovered the comet on February 1, 2002, a homemade telescope.
