Zhang Enli

Zhang Enli (Chinese张恩利, Pinyin Zhang Enli * 1965 Jilin Province, People's Republic of China) is a Chinese artist. He lives and works in Shanghai.

His works describe the familial and Overlooked, everyday objects from the immediate vicinity of the artist. He creates works that invite to universal interpretations. He often works in series, as in his paintings, which deal with the idea of the container - carton boxes, ashtrays and tin cans. Other studies describe public structures such as public toilets and wells, which are numerous to be found in the streets of Shanghai.

For the first time Zhang's works have been exhibited in 1990 at an exhibition for young artists at the Art Museum Shanghai. Later, Zhang Enli's work has been exhibited in major group exhibitions, including in Infinite Painting and Global Realism in the Villa Manin Centro d' Arte Contemporanea, Udine ( 2006), ' Dreaming of the Dragon 's Nation. Contemporary Art from China ' at the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin (2005) and ' Human, Too Human ' at BizArt, Shanghai ( 2004).
