Zhang Ren

Zhang Ren (Chinese张 任/张 任, Pinyin Zhang Ren, † 213 in Chengdu) was an officer of the Chinese warlord Liu Zhang during the Three Kingdoms.

When Liu Bei in 213 against Liu Zhang's capital Cheng Du pushed forward, Zhang Ren let the enemy general Pang Tong in the Valley of the Fallen Phoenix (落 鳯 坡, Luo Feng Po) fall into an ambush and killed him. After the battle, Zhang Ren was captured and brought before Liu Bei, who offered him a position in his army. In the history of the Three Kingdoms Zhang Ren replied: " A faithful officer can not serve two masters. I refuse. " Liu Bei had him executed.
