Zhejiangosaurus

Zhejiangosaurus is a little known genus of dinosaur bird Beck from the group of Ankylosauria, whose remains were described in 2007.

Features

From Zhejiangosaurus only parts of the pelvis, the sacrum, the posterior limbs and some invertebrates have been found so far. It should have been a relatively large representative group of Nodosauridae, otherwise known nothing about the physique. Like all Anykylosaurier was his body probably with bony plates ( osteoderms ) covered, he is likely to have moved quadruped and feeds on plants.

Discovery and classification

The fossil remains of Zhejiangosaurus were in the Chinese province Zhejiang discovered in the city of Lishui and first described by a Chinese research team in 2007. The name alludes to the location, type species and only known species is Z. lishuiensis. The finds are dated to the early Late Cretaceous ( Cenomanian ) at an age of about 100-94 million years.

According to the describer Zhejiangosaurus is classified within the Ankylosauria in the group of Nodosauridae.
