Zheng Junli

Zheng Junli (Chinese郑君 里, pinyin Zheng Jūnlǐ; born December 6, 1911 in Shanghai, † 23 April 1969) was a Chinese actor and film director.

Zheng Junli was born in a Cantonese family in Shanghai. He began after his education at the Nanguo Art School as a theater actor. From 1932 he was employed by the Lianhua Film Society as an actor. He played in Sun Yu's Wild Rose (1932 ) Loving Blood of the Volcano ( 1932) and The Big Road (1934 ) and next to Ruan Lingyu in Cai Chushengs New Women (1934 ).

After the Sino-Japanese war, he worked mainly as a director. His most successful films were the resulting co-directed in 1947 with Cai Chusheng The water of the spring stream flow to the east ( Yi jiang chun shui xiang dong liu ) with Bai Yang in the lead role and the anti - Kuomintang film Crows and Sparrows. After the Communist takeover in 1949 Zheng remained in mainland China and turned up in the 1950s, including film biographies of Nie Er and Lin Zexu. The main role in both films played Zhao Dan.
