Zhihua Temple

The Zhihua Temple (智 化寺, Zhihua si) is a Buddhist temple in Beijing's Dongcheng District ( Lumicang Hutong 5). It was built by the eunuch Wang Zhen in the Zhengtong era of the Ming Dynasty and is since 1961 on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (1-110 ).

Temple Music

The temple is known for its rich collection of Buddhist music. In the temple very old musical forms were preserved. The Beijing music in Zhihua Monastery ( Zhihua si Jing Yinyue智 化寺 京 音乐), the "Music from the capital " or " Jing - music " ( Jing Yinyue ), and since 2006 is on the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of the People's Republic of China.
