Zhongwei

Zhongwei (Chinese中卫, Pinyin Zhongwei ) is a town in the Ningxia Autonomous Region in the People's Republic of China.

Administrative Divisions

The prefecture-level city Zhongwei is made at the county level from a municipality and two circles. These are:

  • Municipality Shapotou -沙坡头 区Shapotou Qū;
  • Circle Zhongning -中 宁县Zhongning Xiàn;
  • Haiyuan county -海原 县Hǎiyuán Xiàn.

Others

The Zhaobishan copper mining site ( Zhaobi shan tongkuang Yizhi ), an old copper mine from the period of the Han Dynasty, is located in the area of the city. It stands on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China ( 6-215 ) since 2006.
