Zhou Tai

Zhou Tai (Chinese周泰; † 228), style name Youping, was a general of the Wu Dynasty during the Three Kingdoms in ancient China.

He was a tall, powerful man of few words, who allegedly lost the battle in no rest.

He served first, with his comrade Jiang Qin ( from pirate days ) as a bodyguard Sun Ces and was later elevated to the squad leader. He saved later also often Sun Quan 's life. ( Sun Ce was drawn out to a campaign ) from an attack of Shanyue rebels on the then young Sun Quan he wore them lifelong scars. Later he saved Sun Quan before an ambush of the Wei general Zhang Liao in Hefei. From then on, Sun Quan, Zhou Tai did not leave his side in battle.

When Sun Quan appointed him commander of Ruxu, many generals were unhappy and referred to Zhou Tai's common origin. Sun Quan traveled about personally after Ruxu and Zhou Tai asked there at a party after the stories behind his many scars. Zhou Tai reported as his battle memories, making it the respect of other officers earned, who received his command.

Zhou Tai was originally a pirate, Sun Jian had fought at the time of the Eastern Han Dynasty. He was friends with the pirate Gan Ning. After Gan Ning was in the Battle of Yiling of Shamoke, a Shu- General, shot, Zhou Tai took revenge for him and killed Shamoke.
