Zhu Jun (fencer)

Zhu Jun ( born July 2, 1984 in Gaoyou, Jiangsu Province) is a Chinese fencer.

Career

Zhu was ten years old at the sports school in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province. The following year he transferred to the Guangzhou Sports School. Since 2002, he trained at the Guangdong Sports College with the national team of China.

The first major international success came in Zhu at the Junior World Championship in 2004 in the Bulgarian Plovdiv, as he both in single as well as in the team competition won the title. Two years later he won as a member of the Chinese national team at the Asian Games 2006 in Doha the gold medal in the team competition.

At the Summer Olympics in the individual before he came to the semifinals, but it lost to clear the later Olympic champion Benjamin Kleibrink ( Germany ). In the subsequent battle for the bronze medal he lost narrowly 14:15 Italy's Salvatore Sanzo and finished at the end of rank 4

At the 2009 World Championships in Antalya, he won the silver medal after final defeat by Andrea Baldini (Italy).
