Zhu Zaiyu

Zhu Zaiyu (Chinese朱 载 堉/朱 载 堉, Pinyin Zhū Zaiyu, W.-G. Chu Tsai -yii ) (* 1536 in Huaiqing, Henan - today Qinyang in Jiaozuo, † 1610) was a prince of the Chinese Ming dynasty and a mathematician and musicologist. The equal temperament could from him in 1584 with the help of a nine-digit number system first be calculated relatively accurately.

He wrote, among other things, the work Caoman Guqinpu (操 缦 古 琴谱) over the Qin game.

His grave in the city Qinyang is on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China ( 5-174 ).
