Ziegelheim

Brick home is a municipality in the administrative community Wieratal in the Thuringian district Altenburger Land. Until 1952 it belonged to Saxony.

Geography

The town and its corridor are located in Altenburger überlössten hill country south of the Leinawaldes and Altenburg. The Federal Highway 180 southwest tangent space. With county roads 202 and 203, the community is accessible from all standard.

Adjacent communities are (clockwise) Frohnsdorf, Göpfersdorf, the town of Waldenburg ( District of Zwickau ), Oberwiera ( District of Zwickau ), Nobitz and Langenleuba - Niederhain.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages of brick home, Engert village, Gähsnitz and low Arnsdorf, the district Engert village from the formerly independent communities Engert village (former Hinteruhlmannsdorf ) and Heiersdorf there. To Ziegelheim even heard the local situation Uhlmannsdorf.

History

Foundation to the First World War

First documented brick home was a Hugo, pastor of Ziegelheim mentioned on March 23, 1254. In the mention certificate it states: " Hugo Plebanus de cygilheim ". Consequently, there were in the place at that time probably already a church, the place is probably a few generations older. The village church was built as a place of pilgrimage on a hill next to the village. The present St. Mary's Church was built by 1508-1517. The village and its districts were not like his surroundings to Sachsen- Altenburg, but to rule Schoenburg - Waldenburg. After 1880 it belonged to the Saxon Amtshauptmannschaft Glauchau. 1893 animal garden was incorporated into brick home.

Weimar Republic

During the negotiations of the German Reichstag on an exchange of territory between Thuringia and Saxony in 1928, the current community brick home was particularly affected. Thus, two Saxon parcels of Heiersdorf the former town Ziegelheim came to the Thuringian part of the town. Furthermore, a parcel of Frohnsdorf was ceded. In return parcels came from the Thuringian part of Jesenitz (now Gähsnitz ) to the Saxon church. The remaining limits on today's municipal area remained unchanged.

Time of the GDR

The communities Ziegelheim and Gähsnitz on July 25, 1952 former Thuringian territory, they were incorporated into the circle Altenburg. After the communist resistance fighters Otto Engert, who was executed on January 11, 1945 in Dresden, the community Hinteruhlmannsdorf has been renamed on 1 July 1950 in the village Engert, at the same time was the incorporation of Heiersdorf.
