Ziga Department

Ziga is both a municipality (French commune Rurale ) and a comprehensive department of the same territory in the West African state of Burkina Faso in the region Centre- North and the province Sanmatenga. The municipality has 34 108 inhabitants in 20 villages, in the majority Mossi.

The municipal area is the Ziga dam, which is used to supply water to the nearby capital, Ouagadougou.
