Zigmas ZinkeviÄius
Zigmas Zinkevičius ( born January 4, 1925 in Juodausiai, Rajongemeinde Ukmergė ) is a Lithuanian Baltist and Dialektologe.
Life
From 1939 to 1945 he learned in high school Ukmergė and 1945-1950 at the Faculty of History and Philology of Vilnius universitetas (VU). Since 1946 he worked at the Institute of Lithuanian language, since 1950 taught at the VU, 1951-1956 at Vilniaus Pedagoginis institutas, 1995-1996 Director at Lietuvių Kalbos institutas, 1996-1998 Minister of Education in the Cabinet of Lithuania Vagnorius II
Since 1994 he is honorary doctor of Vytauto Didžiojo universitetas.
