Zillisheim

Zillisheim is an Alsatian village with 2636 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011 ) in the French department of Haut-Rhin. She is a member of the Mulhouse Alsace AgglomÃ.

Geography

The community Zillisheim is on the right side of the River Ill, a tributary of the Rhine in Alsace. There runs the department of road D 432 Zillisheim has a station on the railway line Paris -Mulhouse, at that keep trains of TER TER Alsace and Franche -Comté. The municipality is located on the Place du Général de Gaulle.

Neighboring communities of Zillisheim are Didenheim in the north, Brunstatt in the northeast, Flaxlanden in the east, stone Brunn -le-Haut in the southeast, Luemschwiller in the south, illfurth the southwest, Frœningen in the west and high instead of in the northwest.

History

Zillisheim one of the oldest villages of Alsace. It is first mentioned as 792 Zullineshaim. Later, as the name also Zilleneshaim or Züllisheim called 1448 then Zulissen.

In the 17th century the city came to a branch of the lords of Pfirt, who built a castle with 365 windows there. Several family members were also buried in Zillisheim several members of these families.
