Ziltendorf

Ziltendorf is a municipality in the southeast of Brandenburg Oder-Spree district. It belongs to the Official Brieskow- Finkenheerd.

Geography

The community lies on the edge of Ziltendorfer lowland, which is located in the Oderaue, between the Oder- Spree Canal and the Oder. Or when the 1997 floods large parts of the municipal area were flooded and major damage were reported.

Community structure

History

The village was first mentioned in 1316 under the name Tzuluttendorph documented. Ancient place names can be found on a high proportion of Sorbian peasants and Zeidler close to the medieval settlement. From 1406 to 1817 ( except for a six-year lease period ), the village was in possession of the monastery Neuzelle pin, then it belonged to the circle Guben and from 1952 to the circle Furstenberg (Oder) - later county ironworks town and country. Today it is the administrative component of the Gemeinde Brieskow- Finkenheerd.

The coat of arms was approved on 18 May 1998.

Blazon: " Azure, silver wave beams under a golden sheaf of corn, accompanied on the right by a golden shamrock cross and left of a golden double hook. "

Culture and sights

In the list of monuments in Ziltendorf are registered in the list of monuments of the country Brandenburg monuments.

Among the attractions of the place include, inter alia, the Protestant village church with its two church bells from the 14th and 16th centuries, which was rebuilt in the late 1990s after the total destruction in World War II.

Ziltendorf is located on the main road 112 between Frankfurt ( Oder) and ironworks city.

On the edge of the village is the work station with 16 tracks of ArcelorMittal ironworks city that operates an integrated steel mill in neighboring ironworks city.

By train Ziltendorf is accessible via the line 11 of the RE Regional Express hourly.
