History

The company was founded in 1863 as a state-owned bank in Turkey. On 25 November 2000, the conversion was carried out in a privately organized public limited company under Turkish law.

Current

In Turkey, the Bank has 1,490 branches, and employs 24,092 people. Furthermore, the Bank has several subsidiaries in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Macedonia and Germany. There are foreign branches in Bulgaria, England, Georgia, Greece, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, USA and offices in Pakistan and Iran.
