Ziyadat Allah III of Ifriqiya

Mudar Abu Ziyadat Allah III. ibn Abdallah (Arabic أبو مضر زيادة الله بن عبد الله, DMG Abū Mudar Ziyadat Allāh b ʿ Abd Allāh, . † 916) was the eleventh and last emir of the Aghlabids in Ifriqiya and ruled from 903 to 909

Mudar Abu Ziyadat Allah came after the assassination of his father Abu al - Abbas Abdullah II 903 to power. He immediately had all brothers and uncles executed off to potential competitors. While Ziyadat Allah ensured its own power, the dynasty lost through these processes the last prestige among the population.

The Kutama under Abu Abd Allah al- ski ʿ i continued to gain power and the city of Sétif could conquer. After two campaigns of the Aghlabids had failed against the Kutama 905 and 906, Abdallah al- ski ʿ i went on the counter-offensive. After the conquest of the southern Ifriqiya the troops of the Aghlabids at al - Aribus were decisively defeated on 18 March 909. Full Ifriqiya was now occupied by the Kutama Berbers and eliminates the dynasty of Aghlabids.

Ziyadat Allah III. even managed to escape to the Middle East. However, he was unable to obtain help from the Abbasids to regain his rule in Ifriqiya. He died in 916 in Palestine.
