Zlín Z 26

The Zlin Z -26 trener was a Czechoslovakian trainer aircraft (from Czech trener = German: coach ). She stands at the beginning of the known training aircraft - series Z -26 to Z -726, with those in international aerobatic competitions bests were achieved. History

The development of the Z -26 goes back to a call for a military aircraft designed for the beginners training from 1946. Some time later elaborated by Karel Tomáš based on the K 35 plans for the Z- 26 as well as for the design competition Praga E -112 were presented. The contract was awarded former. The first flight was successfully completed in September 1947 and the pattern went in Otrokovice in series. Production ran until 1953 and included 163 trener. The Z- 26 was used by both flying clubs as well as in the Czechoslovak Air Force, where she was known as the C-5.

Constructive had seen the Z- 26 is a cantilever low- wing monoplane of wood-metal composite construction with a rigid rear wheel chassis.
